With his entry of two crow calls into the working class locator division at the NWTF Grand National competition in Nashville, TN this week, Buckner Custom Calls is Proud to introduce Casey Buckner, the newest member of the Buckner Custom Calls Family.  Casey Buckner has been working hard this year to be sure that he has a good quality sounding call with a comfortable grip and that he has them ready in time for his debut in Nashville. 

Just one year after his older brother Chris Started making calls Casey joins the team.  Casey is a junior at Chase High School and has plans to continue making calls while he finishes high school then see where life takes him but he knows he wants call-making to always be in the picture. 

Casey chose to design a barrel that was a combination of Michael and Chris’ design.  It has a wider face near the mouthpiece and then curves out at the bottom.  Casey’s mouthpieces are designed with a groove for your lips so you are assured that you don’t put the call too far in your mouth and cause the sound to change. 

Casey Buckner will be in Nashville for the NWTF Grand National Convention on Saturday and Sunday if you want to come by and meet him or get one of his first calls.  Casey only has about 10 calls made so far so if you want one of the first ones you better get it fast, I don’t expect these to last long.

It's that time again.  The new Rutherford County Relay for Life website is up and running and Buckner Custom Calls is one of the first teams to register.  We have already had a couple of people join the team and get started with raising money for the American Cancer Society.  Join us as we try to exceed the amount we raised last year.  Stay tuned for more information about ways to contribute to this years relay and to join our team or donate follow this LINK.

Michael Buckner of Buckner Custom Calls has completed his very first three call set to be raffled off for donations on behalf of the Buckner Custom Calls team to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Rutherford County, NC.

This three call, Buckner Custom Call set comes with a matching crow, slate over glass pot, and a trumpet / yelper call.  All three of these custom calls were hand crafted by Michael Buckner out of the same piece of Walnut specifically for this set to be donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Each of the three calls has been signed by Michael Buckner and inscribes with "ACS Relay for Life set 2010." 

Buckner Custom Calls is trying to raise at least $1,000.00 for our inaugural year as a Relay for Life team.  Tickets for these call will be sold from now until September 10th, 2010 at the Relay for Life Event.  On the night of the event there will be a live filmed drawing which will be posted on our website shortly after the event showing who is the lucky winner of this great hunting set.  Tickets for this Buckner Custom Calls set can be purchased online.  Each entrant will receive 6 tickets for every $5.00 donated to the Buckner Custom Calls team for the American Cancer Society.  There is a $10 minimum donation but this means that if you donate $10.00 you will receive 12 tickets, thus 12 chances to win this beautiful set of calls.  By purchasing your tickets online your donation will also be completely 100% tax deductible.  Simply click this LINK and fill out the information required.  Remember for every $5 you will receive 6 tickets, this is unlimited, (if you donate $500 you will receive 600 tickets).  You can rest assured that your donations are guaranteed to get your name on that as many tickets as you donate for.  As soon as you donate you will be able to print off a tax deduction form and we will send you an email within a day or two confirming that we received your donation and that we have your name on the correct number of tickets.

Chris made this call to benefit The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Rutherford County. This is a great locator call for turkeys, but even better for calling in the crows. If you want the one of the best crow calls on the market you must get this call!!!   This is an awesome all wood call, hand made from a beautiful piece of cocobolo with cocobolo mouthpieces. This call is signed and  numbered #13 for 2010 and is personally tuned. These calls are made one at a time. The call has terrific grain. This is truly a one of a kind call. On our CALLS FOR SALE page is listed the 1st signed numbered match set of crow calls Michael Buckner has ever completed for sale.  These calls are cocobolo and made of one single piece of wood to have an almost identical look.  The calls are currently tuned to be high and low pitched but as with any Buckner Custom Call this can be adjusted.  These calls are also very unique because they do not have the marking lines that have become a hallmark of Michael's Calls.  The piece of cocobolo looked so good smooth that Michael decided to leave it completely natural with only the one groove for the lanyard to go in.  Click Here to see more about these calls and to buy them now while you still can.

The Angel Trumpet call, made by Bob Buckner to auction off for the American Cancer Society's Relay for life is on Ebay now. This trumpet is made from purpleheart and maple. It has a brass ferrule is carved on the barrel and has a very "special" mouthpiece. The purpleheart lipstop is adjustable. The call looks great but it plays even better. I made a video that you can view below. I am not the best caller with a trumpet but I can get a great sound with very little effort. The call is signed and dated on the ferrule with the inscription Angel Trumpet. Along with the call you will receive a custom made box for storage as well as a Certificate Of Authenticity.  

The box inscription reads as follows:

"This purpleheart and North Carolina maple call and box was designed and handcrafted for the American Cancer Society.  In memory, of callmakers and collectors who have lost their battle with cancer, the "Angel Trumpet" stands as a symbol of hope, love, and cure"     #1 of 1

         This is the first call that Bob has made since he retired from call making in 2008. He made this call for a very special reason. My mother and his wife of almost 48 years was diagnosed with colon cancer 17 years ago, and after a long battle and many chemotherapy treatments she has been cancer free ever since. All proceeds from the sale of this call will be donated to The American Cancer Society through our local Relay For Life team here in our county. The call will be 100% tax deductible and the winner will receive the tax credit letter from The American Cancer Society.

Buckner Custom Calls has officially created a team for the Rutherford County, NC Relay for Life.  The Relay will take place on September 10th, 2010 and it is our goal to raise at least $1000.00 before the event.  All donations will be 100% tax deductible and will go directly to the American Cancer Society at the relay for life event.  To donate on our team's behalf please go to our DONATION PAGE and make a donation of any amount.  We will soon be auctioning off some of our calls in order to raise money for this event.  Be sure to check back soon.

Congratulations to Chris Buckner, Buckner Custom Calls' newest call maker has scored again.  Chris entered one crow call into the call-makers competition at the Dixie Deer Classic in the South-Eastern division.  This is the second year of this competition and there was a great turnout with outstanding calls.  Chris brought home first place in his division as well as the Best of Class award for his division.  Congratulations to Chris and all of Buckner Custom Calls.  Better watch out, when Chris can devote more time to making his calls, his talents can be endless.  Being busy with school Chris has sold all of his first series of calls, if you need a call now call Chris or Michael to add your name to his list.

Congratulations to Chris Buckner on winning the N.W.T.F. Grand National Rookie Call Maker of The Year award.  Chris was the prime candidate for this award after taking 1st and 4th place in the Crow Call competition at the annual National Convention in Nashville, TN.  Click on the Picture below for more on Chris' Calls.

Chris Buckner brought home the gold medal along with the 4th place ribbon with his first two calls entered into a grand national competition.  Chris' winning call was selected to be auctioned off in the live auction, becoming the first crow call to ever have this distinction.  Click the winning call below to find out more about Chris' Calls.

Michael Buckner has unveiled the newest arsenal in the Buckner Custom Calls lineup, the Predator Call.  The Predator Call has a look that is very similar to Micheal's Trumpet call but has a sound that is pure rabbit squeal.  To find out more about these calls click HERE.
